Camp Jim Murray

Ideal for Scouting activities of all kinds, the Camp Jim Murray Training Center in Hobbs, New Mexico has its own water well, sewer system, training building, pavilion, storage buildings and activity/parade ground area of 10 acres.  In addition several program features such as Archery, BB-Gun, and Shotgun Ranges, Adult and Unit training materials. Camp Jim Murray Training Center has a more primitive 20 acre area at the west end of camp. We also have a 24X60 modular building that can serve as additional meeting, training and classroom space. 

 

Many programs take place at Camp Jim Murray Training Center, including Wood Badge Training, Adult and Youth Leadership programs, Cub Day Camps, District and Council Scout Camporees, Jamboree-on-the- Air, District Meetings, Round-tables, and more. 

 

Camp Jim Murray Training Center is also used for individual 
Unit camping, and camping by out-of-Council Units traveling through.  Girl Scout Troops and Day Camps, and Community organizations and programs from around the area have also used Camp Jim Murray Training Center.
